Penance

The Sacrament of Penance is often referred to as Reconciliation or even Confession. These titles are all aspects of the meaning of the Sacrament.

The Sacrament of Penance is a celebration of God’s love and mercy. Its focus is the call to repentance after the person has undergone a conversion or change of heart.

The sacramental process includes confessing our sins and receiving the forgiveness of God through the ministry of the priest. Through this process, a person is reconciled with the Church and continues to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

In the Cathedral Parish

Children normally receive the Sacrament of Penance in the year following their reception of Confirmation and Eucharist
Preparation for parents and children takes place prior to the event.
The sacrament is readily available at the Cathedral at designated times (click here for information)

CATHEDRAL CAR PARK
The Cathedral car park is available on weekends for members of the public attending Mass or other ceremonies, eg, baptisms , weddings. The car park will close 30mins after the conclusion of the Mass or ceremony.
