Extraordinary Music for Everyday Worship
Sacred Music Appeal
Music has been at the heart of Cathedral worship since its opening in 1874. The Cathedral Choir of St Stephen was re-founded in 1970 and is a choir in the tradition of the Cathedral Choirs of England and Europe. Members are 10 years old through to 60 and the choir is an important element of the Cathedral's Mass on Sundays and during important events in the liturgical calendar (eg Christmas and Easter). For boys or men who have a passion for singing, Cathedral Chorister scholarships offer a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the liturgical program at St Stephen's Cathedral, as well as a rich and disciplined environment to gain outstanding choral skills. All monies raised from the Sacred Music appeal will contribute to the award of Chorister Scholarships (Treble for young boys aged 9-15 years, as well as junior and senior Organ scholarships for those interested in playing the Jubilee Pipe Organ at the Cathedral. Donations to the Sacred Music Appeal are not tax-deductible. Psalm from the Heart: let's Pray with St Stephen's Cathedral Schola directed by: Christopher Trikilis, Director of Music |
